Bio

James Nason began his career at the tender age of eleven when he commandeered his sister’s cast-off plastic ukulele. The rest is history. Spurred on by a stellar procession of idols, ( Elvis, Ricky Nelson, The Everly Brothers, Pat Boone, Pat Boone?!? ), The Kingston Trio, Hoyt Axton, Buffy St. Marie, Joan Baez, Tom Rush, Phil Harris, Mose Allison), James now regularly performs his uniquely blended arrangements of the tunes of his affore-mentioned mentors.

As condiments to this eclectic musical stew, he adds an ever growing number of original tunes and lately, he has been known to showcase his considerable insrumental repertoire as well. When disaster strikes,( Jim’s vigorous guitar style often causes multiple string breakage ), he continues on in blustery accapella until the damage to his instument is repaired. A true musical tree-top flyer, jim regularly takes chances with his vocal range. Sliding in and out of falsetto, he dives to the depthes and sails to the heights, non-chalantly working without a net.

Although his repertoire is predominantly upbeat, ( prefering humor rather than pathos as the vehicle for his message ), he can, when the mood strikes him, deliver material of great melodic and lyrical depth. Do yourself a faver and catch James Nason’s act while he’s relatively cheap---he won’t be for long!
